For Maths, we use the White Rose Maths Scheme. You can see on the yearly overview below the topics that we will be learning in each term.

We also follow the NCETM Mastery Number programme to help develop our fluency within 10. We usually do this in the afternoons.

Autumn Term 

We have explored lots of ways to make numbers within 10 this term. We have lots of different objects to help us. We have used part-whole models and tens frames a lot as well. 

We have built upon our mathematical knowledge from reception to help us add and subtract within 10. 

We have looked at the following equations:

• addend + addend = sum 
• sum = addend + addend 
• minuend- subtrahend = difference 
• difference = minuend- subtrahend

We also loved looking at our shapes topic. We investigated 3D and 2D shapes and compared them. 

Spring Term 

This term we have looked at numbers all the way up to 50! We've used lots of different resouces to help us to understand how these numbers are made. 

We are using what we already know to help us add and subtract larger numbers.
