Sires Hill Primary Academy had successfully passed the pre-opening Ofsted inspection which was conducted in May 2023.  A full inspection is expected in the school's third year of opening.

Trust Statement

We are immensely proud of Sires Hill Primary Academy and of this inspection report. To achieve a Strong Standard in each and every area of the inspection framework, alongside confirmation that safeguarding standards are met, is a significant achievement for a school which opened less than three years ago and is still growing year by year. Ofsted’s definition of ‘strong standard’ marks out excellent, consistent work that’s making a real difference for children and learners.

What makes this report particularly special is the consistency of what inspectors found. Pupils achieve well; attendance is excellent; behaviour is a strength; teaching is purposeful and enjoyable; children flourish in the early years; and the school is described as “highly inclusive”, placing pupils’ needs at the centre of its work.

This has been achieved deliberately. From the outset, our ambition has been to build a school in which high academic expectations sit alongside inclusion, wellbeing, personal development and a genuine sense of belonging. We want children not simply to achieve highly, but to enjoy school, develop confidence and independence, experience a rich and broad education and learn to value themselves and others. The report captures that beautifully: pupils are proud to belong to Sires Hill, relationships between pupils and staff sit at the heart of the school, and classrooms and social spaces are described as lively and purposeful places where children take pleasure in learning. 

We are especially proud of the breadth of opportunities available to children at Sires Hill. Inspectors recognised the impressive range of clubs, trips, cultural events and sporting opportunities, alongside the care taken to ensure that these are accessible to all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND. This commitment to providing a rich, inclusive and well-rounded education is fundamental to the school we have built. 

None of this happens by accident. It is the product of an exceptionally committed team of staff who are ambitious for every child, who know their pupils and families extremely well and who give an enormous amount to their school. It is particularly pleasing, therefore, that inspectors also recognised a culture in which staff are proud to work and where leaders consider their workload and wellbeing. Our responsibility as a Trust is not simply to secure excellent outcomes, but to build schools in which excellent practice can endure. 

Perhaps the achievement of which I am most proud is that Sires Hill has grown so successfully without losing quality or consistency. Inspectors specifically recognised the careful, measured and deliberate way in which leaders and Trust leaders have managed that growth. As the school continues its journey towards Year 6, that principle will remain central. 

Our ambition is to keep building on what has already been achieved, always considering where further development will genuinely enhance children’s experience. We will continue to aim high, while ensuring that our approach remains thoughtful, sustainable and centred on what is best for our pupils.

We could not be prouder of Alison Ashcroft and the entire Sires Hill team. This report is a tremendous recognition of what has been built together in a remarkably short period of time – and, most importantly, of the education and childhood experience they provide for their pupils every single day.
