If your child is due to start school in September 2027, you will need to apply through Oxfordshire County Council.  Parents of infant school children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023 will need to apply for a school place for September 2027.

We admit 60 children into our reception classes (30 children in each class).  The school will accordingly accept 60 pupils each year if there are sufficient applications. Where fewer numbers have applied, all those that applied will be offered spaces. 

The portal for applications will open in November 2026.

Late applications

If you submit your application without a good reason after the deadline, your application will be treated as late.  This may affect the possibility of your child being offered a place at one of your preferred schools. 

Waiting lists

Where there are more children than places available, waiting lists will operate according to the over-subscription criteria in our admissions policy.  Applicants who wish a child to go on a waiting list must reapply for in year admission through Oxfordshire County Council. 

Request to Defer Place or Join outside Chronological Year group

Some parents believe that it is in their child's best interests to delay entry to primary school. If your child is born between 1st April 2023 and 31st August 2023 you can request that their application be delayed to September 2027 instead of the 26/27 academic year. 

How to request a delay

If you wish to delay your child's application, you need to make the request by 15th January 2027.  OCC will still respond to request after this date, but it may take longer. 

Parents who want to delay their application should also submit a 'normal' application for their child's age by 15th January 2027 in case the delay request is not accepted. To find out more Click here

When you are offered a space (National offer day)..

• You will be contacted by email with a welcome letter
• You will be invited to a welcome meeting in June 2027.
• There will be one to one meetings with your child's teacher to find our more about your child in early July.
• There will a two hour transition stay and play opportunity for your child in July.
• There will be two half days in September to aid transition, before starting full time on the third day.
