We want every child that attends Sires Hill Primary Academy to develop as an individual - having dreams and goals, that can problem solve, be resilient and know how to form healthy relationships and habits. Personal Development forms a vital part of our curriculum and pervades all aspects of school life.
We want children to feel a sense of belonging at our school - that they matter and make a difference. Children will be split into four houses: Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Pluto and these houses will compete against each other- but also support each other. Our two rules of 'be kind; be brilliant' are known by every child and underpin all that we do in school.
Personal Development is is split into different areas - some of which are taught as lessons, for example, our Sex and Relationship programme and PSHE sessions, where we use a scheme called Jigsaw. Other elements will be offered through clubs, assemblies and other activities.
