    Trips, visits and experiences

    Children will have access to wide range of opportunities as they move through the school.  This will include trips and visitors, leadership opportunities, musical instrument tuition and much more. 

    We plan our enrichment opportunities carefully so that they enhance and further children's learning and experiences.  Every child has the opportunity to take part during their time in school.

    Autumn term:

    • Christmas craft afternoons with parent and carers: Nursery, Pre-school and Year 1
    • Christmas productions: Reception and Year 2
    • Trip to Didcot Railway Centre: Year 2
    • Librarian visits 
    • Toys of the past hands on artefacts lesson/ museum workshop  Year 1
    • Didcot Fire Engine visits: Nursery and pre-school
    • Rocksteady (peripatetic music lessons)
    • Rocksteady Concert
    • Local walk - Reception
    • Guitar (peripatetic music lessons)
    • House competition: Poetry Slam
    • House competition: Cross Country

    Spring term

    • Indian dancing workshop - whole school including 2 year olds
    • Presentations to parents/carers: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
    • Geography field trip - our local area: Year 1
    • Hampton Court Palace (History trip) - Year 2
    • Elizabeth 1st visit - Year 2
    • Rocksteady Concert
    • World Book week
    • Roving book shop
    • Fire of London workshop - Year 1
    • House competition: mathematics
    • House competition: sports focus

    Summer term:

    • Didcot library Visit
    • Reception visit to Beale Park
    • Year 1 Victorian Schools workshop
    • House competition: Sports day
    • Year 2 Hengitsbury Head beach field trip
    • Rocksteady concert

    Pupil leadership opportunities:

    • Hall monitors - setting up the hall for assemblies and lunch time
    • Travel Ambassadors - promoting healthy travel to school
    • Eco Warriers - protecting our environment and making our school as eco friendly as possible
    • Librarians - keeping our fantastic library organised. 

    Club Friday

    Every Friday our curriculum time ends at 2:40pm to allow the children to develop their talents and interests.  Led by our teachers and learning support assistants, children are able to choose to attend a club of their choice that they commit to for half a term.  New clubs are offered each term.  This allows 100% of our children to attend clubs.
