Primary Academy

Getting off to a great start....

Exploring, questioning and experimenting opportunities are abundant in our well resourced classroom and outdoor learning space.

3-4 year olds

Children are also eligible to enter our nursery the term after they turn 3 if there are spaces available.   For example if they are 3  in April, they can start in September.  If they are 3 in September they can start in January.

15 hour places

Morning and afternoon spaces are available. Every child is eligible for 15 hours of free nursery education per week and in our school, this can be taken as morning sessions or afternoon sessions. Sessions run from 8:45-11:45am and 12:30 - 3:30pm.

30 hour spaces

There are 30 hour spaces available for working parents (eligibility checks apply). These sessions run 8:45am to 11.45am and 12.30pm to 3.30pm with the option to stay for lunch which costs £6 per session per day (your child must bring a packed lunch from home). Please note the cost is £12 for sessions booked with less than 24 hours notice.

We also offer morning and afternoon spaces (15 hours a week) for those children whose parents do not qualify for 30 hours of childcare. Please note that sessions can not be split across different providers.

There are three intakes a year: September, January and April (after the Easter holidays).  We will only be able to accept pupils if there are sufficient spaces.

In a school based nursery, your child is taught by a teacher with a carefully planned curriculum.  This is very different from 'child care'.  We would expect your child to attend the nursery class every day in order to make the most of the learning available and to set them up ready for transition to reception, which will come along very quickly!

We ask that children are in at least a basic uniform of school white polo shirt with logo and school purple sweatshirt with logo with your own choice of leg wear.  Children should have trainers for indoors and be provided with wellies for outside (these need to be available every day).  If you would like your child to wear the full school uniform this is up to you.  Children will also need a school book bag. Crocs and sandals must not be worn for safety reasons.
